Set List – DJam 2013

It’s easy to lose sight of the reasons I started this blog. One key reason was simply to share details of some of the music that I’ve been playing, for those that are interested.

So – time for another set list. This one is from the DJam Friday night – always an interesting time to play, as there’s constantly new people arriving, settling down, meeting old friends, getting a feel for the place, and starting to dance. So I was on my best behaviour, gently working the wave, mixing up the styles, and playing a nice comfortable accessible set to get everyone feeing at home.

Oh – and it began with a teachers’ intro, hence the first track – R. L. Burnside’s Peaches, which was for our blues teachers to do a quick demo. The rest of the teachers demo’d to Everything is Jumpin’, led a snowball for Junior Mance’s For Dancers Only, then we went into social dancing for the next hour.
